| Rain or shine, the Gasometer is the place to shop. At the end of the 1990’s, the four 102 year old enormous gas tanks in the Simmering District were rebuilt into a whole new city quarter. Four star architects took part in the redesigning of the Gasometer. On the ground floor, there is a shopping mall with over 70 stores that spans over 22,000 square meters. There are also 615 modern apartments and an events hall with capacity for 4,200 people. Taking the underground line U3 from the city center, one can reach Gasometer in about 8 minutes. |
