The Votive Church was built in the second half on the 19th century, and is modeled on French Gothic churches. The Votiv Church can be seen from the very central underground station Schottentor that leads to the University of Vienna's main buildings. In front of the Votive Church is the Freud Park where trees, brought from the member countries of the European Union, were planted as a symbol of unity.
Votiv Kino (Votiv Cinema), which is near the Votive Church, is one of the best alternative cinemas, showing mostly independent productions. |
