The City of Vienna commissioned one of the main criticis of the style of communal residentail buildings, the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, to construct an housing complex. The ornamental and colorful building, , is completed in 1985 in Kegelgasse, 3rd District of Vienna. In contrast to the conventional design of the urban housing in Vienna, Hundertwasserhaus has asymmetrical windows, a lot of greenery growing on the flat roofs, unevenly plastered walls and colorful onion-dome towers.
