Information about the German integration course

ÖIF

The Deutschinstitut is certified for German integration courses. All our Intensiv courses up to and including the level A2.3 are integration courses. These courses can be creditet to the voucher you receive as part of the "Integrationsvereinbarung".

Zusammen:Österreich

In the winter edition 2013 of ..ZUSAMMEN:ÖSTERREICH (page 6) you can read about the personal experiences of some of our students and see what one of our teachers has to say about learning German in Austria.

The German integration course prepares you for the officially recognized German language exam which is needed to fulfill the Austrian Integration Agreement (according to the new law on permanent and temporary residence
as of July 1 st, 2011).

German language exam:

The officially recognized German language exam necessary to fulfill the integration requirement is the A2 level "ÖIF-Prüfung". The exam can be taken at the “deutschinstitut.at – Weiterbildungsinstitut Wien” at the end of the whole German integration course package, after having finished course level A2/3. Beginners will have to attend the German courses A1/1, A1/2, A1/3, A2/1, A2/2, A2/3 (= 6-month German Integration course package) and successfully complete them before they can take this exam.

Immigrants who already have some German language skills can start their German integration course at a higher level than A1/1 (A1/1 = beginners without any German language skills) and consequently complete the German integration course package within a shorter period of time.

The Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) will reimburse you 50 % of your German course costs (for a maximum of 300 lessons) after you have passed the officially recognized German language exam at the end of course A2/3.
